I definitely agree with you that if I face big resistance on the turn, it's probably best to let the hand go.
HOWEVER, I think it's inevitable to be facing a bigger turn bet if you plan on calling the min raise and checking the turn. I can't really see a blocking bet being a good idea on the turn since I think it'll get raised most of the time.
The way I see it is that minraising doesn't scream "STRENGTH STRENGTH STRENGTH" but at the same time it's not a big enough bet for someone to bluff with.
