Default BRAG: Lost 30 pounds in 5 weeks

October 1, I buy in to the Matol Diet. I am a 6 foot male with more than average muscle mass, 230 pounds, and felt fat even though nobody around me really noticed. I started shopping for jeans in Sept for the school year and was having a lot of trouble fitting in to a pair without looking like they were spandex. So I had to go up a size and didn't feel good.

Anyway, Nov 4th, and I just weighed in at 199.4 pounds.

I'm sure many of you are going to think this is unhealthy, its all water weight, or that I lost a ton of muscle mass too.

The answer is none of the above actually. The way it works is this. your body gets energy from 3 main sources: carbs, proteins, fats.

Your body burns carbs/sugars as its primary source of energy, and once the carb/sugar "bank" is depleted it simultaneously use your stored energy (your fat) and your protein (muscles mostly) for energy.

The idea is to deplete your carb/sugar "Bank" completely so that your body is forced to use its stored fat and muscle. But you don't want to lose your muscle right? OFC not, so the protein food is high in protein which helps prevent this by providing the body with protein. So the diet forces my body to enter
"Ketosis" which means my body uses strictly its stored fat as energy.

Anyway, 30 pounds in 5 weeks, and I can see the results in inches and body size. Booyeashacka.

BRAG: 30 pounds gone in 5 weeks
BRAG: I sat down and did NO exercise during this time period.
BEAT: No fast food for me (I was a fast food junkie before this)
VARIANCE: Still 20 more pounds to go.
