The Lakers front office has to do what's in the best interest for the team. Kobe has proved for the last three, soon-to-be-four, years that he cannot carry a team by himself, so it's likely in the Lakers' best interest, regardless of Kobe's trade demands, to trade him.

Wouldn't another option being trying to get Kobe help? He took half the shots in the Lakers opener. How many players in the NBA are actually carrying their team alone? The Kobe hate is insane. The dude is made at publicity but he is a sick bball player and clutch. 2 minutes left in Game 7 of the finals.... Deng vs Kobe? Come on, dont be silly.
