It sat for 36 to 48 hours, but re-reading your results I found a difference: you said it was difficilt to dent the plastic bottle, whereas I could dent it but there was definitely resistance.

I may have stopped the process too early, worried the bottle might explode.

I'll try again. I'd like to be able to do it in smaller bottles, or to rebottle after the initial fermentation (if that's what it is), but I don't know if that works...
