Having thought about this hand a little longer I think that a shove is probably correct whether MP is good or tilting, which it sounds like he is.
Against a range of top 20% you're 49% when you only need 43% (assuming bb folds simplifies calculations and doesn't make a big difference I think). That's a pretty big edge to give up and obviously there's a decent chance he's shoving wider if he's tilting which makes it an even easier shove.
