If you think he 3bets only QQ+,AK then I think you should fold preflop. Against that range you are approximately a 2:1 dog, you are calling here for the right price, but your position sucks so bad in this hand, that I think this makes it a fold. If you do decide to call, then I think it's out of the question to check on a board of low cards. So b/f would be my option the way you played it.
