aussie rules is boring for none aussies, its always stopping for them to kick thru the posts and its just random punching of the ball and bouncing it

not true. I think Aussie rules football is freaking awesome.
Used to love watching it on ESPN in the U.S. back when they showed it.
Kangaroos vs. Magpies FTW!!!

To all the non-Americans who don't know what they're looking at:
No, you don't only get 2 seconds to score. Once the ball is in play they get to keep going after the clock is 00 as long as they don't get tackled. They made 15 laterals on one play and kept the play alive for longer than should humanly be possible and eventually got it into the end for the winning score. Just ridiculous.

The play is not dead when the ball hits the ground. Lateraling it backwards is the same as a fumble that hits the ground. The ball is still live. You are allowed to intentionally bounce the ball if you like as long as it's backwards.

No, you don't have to throw underhanded to lateral the ball.
Some people have this misconception which is just ridiculous because overhand laterals where the ball is still live if it touches the ground happen all the time.

FWIW - you also don't have to throw it overhand when you pass forward. Some people actually think this for some reason but underhand quick shovel type passes aren't that incredibly uncommon either.

You're welcome for your education on some of the basics on American football.
