Default Re: Is this considered a muck?

[ QUOTE ]
How many times, tho, do u see a player who is trying to show cards at the showdown and the cards go face down...

All hell ensues if they try to get mucked by the dealer...

Dealer will often show enough experience to ask if it is a muck, or push the cards back waiting for a statement or reaction... this should follow under the best interest of the game... when the other player complains that it was a muck... a dealer might say... "sir, if u accidentally tried to turn ur hand up and they flipped over, I would give you a chance to properly show down as well."

WHAT a Load of crap.
This is a big part of the issue today in poker, players don't think they need to take any responsibility for their recklessness.

It a players obligation to protect their hand.

Do not THROW your hand in unless you accept the fact that it may get mucked because in somehow doesn't stop the way you had hoped.

In 99% of instances when im dealing, if a hand come in face down, its going into the muck, quickly. Its not my job to say "sir what did you mean to do here, are you sure you want to muck, was it an accident? Here is your hand back, please clarify your action."

If you want your hand to contend, turn it over faceup on the table and dont release it.
