No, it's just Stargate. In the movie Stargate, they unearthed the Stargate in Egypt in the early-mid 1900s and couldn't get it to work in the 50s then shelved it. Then, in the 90s they started trying again and got it working in a not entirely disimilar way to how they got their imagination portal working. But if you've seen Stargate, it's very clearly ALL based on it.
