Also, what I think is interesting, is that eskimo implied pretty strongly that he had a rule that could be dangerous to the village's interests even if he is pro-village. Eskimo is targeted with an action that doesn't just silence him, but also removes his ability to perform any actions tonight whatsoever.
I think it's likely he was silenced by a pro-village player.
