I do not understand what you mean by "effective pot odds." If you could explain this I think it would be quite helpful, as I think whatever you are referring to gets to the heart of my question. To play devil's advocate, to me it seems that pot odds are pot odds. Would the decision be any different in a cash game vs. tournament?
