How did the dealer get your hand? If he called and yours is accidentally mucked, you lose. 1st rule in poker, always protect your hand, it's your responsibility to protect your cards and action 100% of the time.
Be thankful you got to chop the pot. You should have lost the whole thing, even if by mistake. The house does not take responsibility for hands mucked inadvertantly.
