[Grease]

Here's the story.

Loose passive guy limps in early position. He's an old, mean bastard and I don't like him. I don't think he knows this, because I do my absolute best to never ruffle any feathers at a table. Folds to me in the SB. I raise. BB folds, and the limper calls. The next thing I know, the pot is being pushed to me. The dealer mucked my hand. She gives it back to me, except it's not the same hand. One card is the same, but one is not (ATs-AJs). I say "This is not my hand." The old man loses it and starts screaming at me, saying things along the lines of "I'm not falling for that!" So what's the ruling?

We ended up chopping the pot as is. Fair?

Should I have not said anything and taken the flop? Really dishonest?
