I think the flop call is fine versus an aggressive stealer (I mean, you probably have the best hand), but that assumes Villain won't keep firing if he missed or will start making weak bets (and unfortunately, it sounds like we don't know).

I understand what you're saying about preflop, but keep in mind that except for the fact that you're suited, you are holding the worst possible HU hand in terms of hot-and-cold equity.

So I'd probably wait for something at least a little stronger before taking a stand. Or, as an alternative, I would 3-bet to $3 or so and see how Villain responded to that.
