1. If someone is 3-betting me light I tend to tighten my range somewhat so it is mostly made of hands that can call his 3-bet and get money in on the flop. If we are both deep this includes hands like 87s (once in a while).
2. 3-betting is not that common at low level FR in my experience. It is fairly easy to tell if they are doing it light. So you don't need to see a hand go to showdown really, you just need to see them do it more than a few times.
3. I tend to only 3-bet light against people who are making some kind of steal raise or against people with a wide opening range. Used against the right villains/in the right spots, it's a good way to pick up pots.
