Default Why Deny Ability to See Hole Cards?

Why do they deny that it's feasible that someone might find a way around security to access hole card information?

Countless times in the past, there have been examples of rogue programmers putting backdoors into software that they write, breaking encryption schemes that were thought to be 100% secure, and insiders using priviledged connections/computer accounts on the inside to compromise security.

I feel like all they did was log into the accounts in question and see that play looked "normal" to them, when in reality one or more players probably either was relayed hole card information from elsewhere, or a smart enough rogue programmer would make his account have some special "hot key" that put it into super user mode, so that it looked normal to AP's staff if they logged in. For example, you login as user #363, then hold down the CTRL and ALT keys while you type in "MAXIMUMPWNAGE" to put the account into super user mode.

Edit: Also, why not just say "Our system is carefully designed to make it impossible for anyone to see another user's hole cards. We are confident in this, however the recent allegations are troubling enough that we will conduct a thorough investigation into the matter". That way they don't look like idiots when it's found out that hole card info WAS out there, and they also don't get all of us angry/frustrated by making it sound like we're idiots for even suggesting that hole card info could have been compromised.
