This player would still be eligible for the AM promo(s). Yes, if that person flew out Sunday morning they couldn't play for the freeroll chop, but if they left later on Sunday or drove to Vegas they could play in the promo. I know for a fact that many weekend tourists do make it into the promo because I've played with them in it.

EDIT: I also want to reemphasize that a weekend tourist can get a positive return on the jackpot drop without playing in the freeroll chop if they hit the other promos.
