Really??? Where you live? It's def more used in the southern states, but pretty popular everywhere (lived in CONNECTICUT all my life). Unfortunately yes, it is more frowned upon than smoking.
Also, was a football player and worked in the NFL for 3 years... you'd be suprised how many football players dip. I'd say about 65%.
