My thinking is that the smaller bet gives him a little more rope to make plays when he has spades, or whatever other garbage he may have.
Not to mention, we might get an extra street of value from an 8 that we might not get with a bigger bet.
Maybe I'm overestimating his agroness? Is my trap too obvious?
He doesn't have implieds to call that $45 bet, regardless.
