It's not that I don't agree with you, but I think you see a lot of "It's yours", "Take it" which means you have two choices either take them at their word or stall the game waiting for them to much their hand.
It's kinda no win on that decision so I usually stall the game or ask them "is that a muck"?
I've watched guy let go of their hand the second the other player says one of those and always wondered what would happen if player who said it decided not to muck.
