Default Re: going to 40000dollar freeroll need help!

First of all - be prepared for a format that depends mostly on luck! Serious - you already begin kind of shortstacked (20 BB - according to Harrington you start in the yellow zone) and even if you double up early the next blind level will make you shortstacked again. The fact that everyone else is shortstacked as well doesnīt make your situation much better. So you will permanently be on the hunt for situations which can double you up. You can not afford to be overly tight at the beginning. Already in the second level your M drops into the orange zone.

So you have to look for the weak ones. Who limps much and folds to a raise? Attack them.

Who raises light - but is postflop weak? Call them and attack them postflop - with nearly any two.

If you have a real good hand (like JJ-AA) immediately push. Donīt get fancy - youīll probably be called at least once anyway.

If you somehow manage to get a real big stack (like >30-40 BB) - remember that you still have just 15 mins before your M drops down to the half again. So stay aggressive.

But overall - these tournaments are mainly dominated by luck, not by poker experience or even reasonable play. Donīt be disappointed if you get your chips in with AK and are called with some incredible crap (like J2o) and he busts you. Nobody can afford to wait for good cards here.

I wish you good luck!
