Default 66 second pair on flop basic question

Found myself a little confused here. If I have air or a set I'm C/Raising here, but wasn't sure what is the best plan with 2nd pair type hand. Since a call from me here would imply a weak hand allowing my opponent to take this away from me on the turn I thought about either raising and turning this into a bluff, or folding because there's such a good chance of me facing a turn bet - even though calling seems like the most standard move.
