Default Re: Pictures of my new baby horse

[ QUOTE ]

What's a filly?

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh sorry. A filly is an immature female.

Random horse naming below:
A foal refers to a baby horse of either sex who is still at their moms side. A weanling is a baby that has been taken from their mom (weaned) but is under 1 year of age. When they hit 1 year, they are called yearlings.

Horses reach adult height around 3 or 4. While they are still growing they are referred to as fillies (female) or colts (male). Additionally, most male horses are gelded (castrated) at around the one year mark. Castrated males are referred to as geldings. An "intact" underage male is often referred to as a stud colt.

When they reach adulthood, the males are called either stallions or geldings, and the females are called mares.
