Default need some help with integration

up to this point i have played a mostly very standard, straightforward 19/16/4 kind of game. at nl10/25/50 there was really no reason not to. its easy to play, easy to analyze, easy to win, and it gave me a pretty decent understanding of how to play the game. thing is, i've seen a lot of people that stick with the exact same approach until they move up to whatever level that it stops working for them, at which point they either freak out and try to completely overhaul their game and fall on their face, or just give up, move back down, and keep doing whatever it was they were doing before. i don't want that to be me.

while i can probably still win at nl100 playing the same way, i want to start integrating some new ideas now, so that it won't be such a huge shock later down the road. i'm just not sure where to start. i think the most logical approach would be to start adding in the some of the most optimal situations that i don't currently take advantage of or mess with. so, i need some thoughts on a few things. feel free to add in your own things.

1) best situations to cold-call raises preflop with speculative hands other than pp.

2) best situations to 3bet with hands that i wouldn't normally play with a raise in front of me pf.

that's probably enough to work on a little bit for now. if you think something else would be a better place to start though, feel free. i'm basically just looking for a little bit of general advice in approach coming from experience. i know there are already some pretty detailed breakdowns on specific subjects here, and i can do my own homework.
