In 2005 I believe there were less than 6,000 players. All 9 players at the final table won at least $1 million. In 2007 there are over 6,000 and the million doesn't start until the top 5.

basically, they redid the payout structure to pay out more to the bottom of cashing players... better for the greater good, but a few less millionares
