Default Re: what do you make of this flat call?

[ QUOTE ]
Ok, just to be clear. This is how I play this hand readless:

I would make my normal raise at this level which is t2100.

I would insta-call if the short stack shoved and it folded to me.

I would fold if either of the other stacks shoved.

IMO, OP raised too much PF. By raising to t2600 he has become closer to committing himself PF if one of the big stacks decides to shove. Which is why I prefer raising less than Ham did, to something like 2100.

I agree 100% with all of the above. If you default to shoving from LP with 13BBs, it's going to be very difficult for u to get value when u do pick up a hand. Also, there are so many people that resteal way lighter than they should, esp if they have small stacks. These same people will fold to shoves tho. At this level in tournaments there is a significant diff btw a 13-14 BB stack and a 10BB stack IMO (not to mention the resteal opp.) The 13-14 lets u raise a little less than 3x and then play correctly preflop. The 10BB stack committs you to shoving pre. It's a big mistake to play these stacks the same way here.
