As others have said its a terrible line. If you think your explanation makes sense you should spend some time figuring out why it doesn't reconcile with what a lot of good posters are saying.
On the flop you have the best hand ~85+% of the time...if you let villain get to the river for free you have the best hand a lot less. You have to charge him so see those cards.
As for having the Ac or not...I'd be much more likely NOT to bet (or to bet less) with it than without it.
