as in std. dev. squared? as in measurin the range of values around the EV? i guess i really have no idea what it is then. all that time in college and being a TA for the math dept in the meanwhile didn't work out after all.

what does being a TA have to do with not understanding how variance applies to poker? it goes beyond just EV and standard deviations.
