his disclosing his hand effects other players. If he discloses he has QT then a player who flops a draw neeeding a Queen or Ten knows he has less outs, with this knowledge he may fold a hand where he would have paid off another player.
Or suppose after announcing he has QT he folds. Now on the river the board is A7T5T. A player who might have bet a bluff representing a T can no longer do so.
Now if he waits until the hand is heads up the only player who can be negatively affected is himself so that is alright, except in a tournament where his conduct actually impacts every player in the tournament.
