I agree -- nothing wrong with doing a hobby, be it poker or whatever on vacation. While in Venice years ago, I played golf. Golf was not big in Italy then (not sure it is now, either), and I simply walked onto the Venice course, although it was a private club, rented a set of clubs and played. No one else was playing (and it was a weekend afternoon), although a large group of members were barbecuing a whole pig outside the clubhouse. We also made time to rent a motorboat and cruise the canals, wander the city, eat great foods, go to Murano and Guideca and do many other activities. But I still remember my round of golf fondly.
