From what I understand, the judge f-ed up by not letting the jury consider a charge of manslaughter. It was murder or nothing. The holdouts on the jury said they couldn't prove he put the gun in her mouth, thus no murder. I suspect the prosecution will retry for a manslaughter conviction so they don't have to go thru this nonsense again.
