He must be making a point, I just am too loony to get it. I think he says if we don't have high taxes and wasteful government spending then the only alternative is a barter economy? How about a flat or consumption tax. A mission statement that government is here to protect our rights and property and provide infratstructure and not to satisfy every need that its citizens have. How about a Federal Reserve that exists to maintain a stable monetary base and not to bale out speculators.

Ron Paul wants no IRS, no income tax, no consumption tax, no government debt and certainly no Federal Reserve. Without these, there is no money as we know it. Without money, we're in a barter economy.

Taxes don't create money, they redistribute it. There was money before the Federal Reserve, the Federal Reserve creates too much money and devalues our currency. I'm no fan of Ron Paul but this expansion of government taxation and spending is getting out of hand.
