Default Throwing up when drinking

This might be a little off topic, however I figure someone here might have experienced this before.

Here's my problem:

I'm a college student, about 6'1", 205 lbs. Pretty athletic, get a lot of exercise, etc. I usually drink about twice a week and have a tendency to throw up very often. However, when I do throw up, 99% of the time it is because I am full, not because I am drunk. Now I know that the obvious answer is to not drink as fast, which I have tried but I usually get the same results. Throwing up does not bother me, in fact it makes me feel 10 times better, however it really sobers me up and makes it impossible for me to get drunk for the rest of the night. Also, I can't drink hard alcohol. For some reason it makes me want to throw up even faster, whether I am taking shots or mixed drinks. The only semi-solution I have found for this problem is to skip dinner when I am drinking. The only problem with this is that sometimes I don't know if I am going to drink that night until after dunner which makes it hard to plan. I have never really blacked out without drinking hard alcohol, so I am not worried about anything like that. I guess in another form, my question is how can I lower my tolerance to beer besides for drinking on an empty stomach?

Anyone had this problem before?

Thanks
