I don't know either, but in practice, for better or worse, I would probably check behind.
It doesn't help matters any that, from what I can tell, the river bluff-raise seems to be gaining in popularity. I don't think what I just said applies to river checkraises as much as plain old river raises, but I am saying that I don't think you have an easy fold if you're, say, checkraised smallish, but I'd expect to lose more often than not when facing such a checkraise.
Edit: JT was double-gutted on the turn, too, and I think this hurts the case for a bet considerably.
