You should have bet this hand on the flop. Maybe you would still have lost, but at least you would have got some money in before the board paired, at which point you can maybe slow down a little.

Slow play = bad play mostly.

As played, simply call his bet on the river, no sense in shoving because only better hands would normally call except MAYBE Ks.
