Are they starting the next round wherever the clock left off when the last match in the previous round ended?

Does anyone have an educated guess as to how long this thing will take? 2048 players = 11 rounds, each of which has to end completely before the next one starts. Is it possible it will still be going on when the main event starts next Sunday?
