I can accept this, in no particular order, if you're just talking about the online game. I think the online O8 players have a HUGE advantage over their B&M adversaries because of the sheer volume of hands that you can play -- you pick up on the mathematics of the game so much faster online. Online NLH players, by comparision, often can't win in a B&M because they give (or can't see) tells. IMO, you can't really learn how to play PLO8 (or LO8 to a lesser extent) in a B&M the way you can online.
That said, there's a whole big world out there. I think that by not including old fashioned, B&M pros in your debate you're selling short a whole group of players that won't play online for serious money -- they don't trust it because they are paranoid or just old.
