The news nerds are morons. The N&O article is trash and doesn't explain anything. More great journalism by people who spend five minutes of investagating and a cheesy quote to fill up space. I don't get it, 71 people were cited and only $70k in cash taken? Was that what the house had or was it taken off of everyone that was there? I guess it's good that they didn't bust the big game there.
There has been a big push around here to bust local games but mainly b/c of tie ins with video poker machines and when a game becomes too well known. Its a risk we all take each time we go to local spots and you're starting to see some of the good cash games dry up in the eastern part of the state b/c of the pressure.
Usually the rule of thumb is that you're alright as long as no one complains, no strippers (sounds strange but that crosses the imaginary line of when local cops start to care)and no casino games.
