No one makes the final table thinking like this.
At the time of this hand there were about 6 tables remaining and I was on a rapidly accelerating trend-line where currently 1/4 of my stack is blinded off each round, soon to be 1/3 of my stack.
A check/fold strategy waiting for a premium hand is the worst strategy possible. At <10xBB I'm clearly in pushbot territory and what I have going for me more than anything else is my still-significant fold-equity.
I'm not sure K9o on UTG+1 was correct, but I believe it was very close. In late-stage tourney play I think FTA is much more important than position. UTG ceded FTA to me.

No need to take bad gambles bavause you are short stacked. Push next round after you are blinded down.
