How are they regulated? Being paid to have sex on camera is legally the same as prostitution.
It's just that because this is a misdemeanor, it can't be prosecuted unless a police officer witnesses the crime. So in theory, the police could arrest a pornstar by setting up some sort of "fake porn movie company" sting, but beyond something like that, the police can't do much about it.
