Default Korean food is tasty (8/b)

20-40 seven card stud eight or better from the Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, CA

History: I got there at about 11am right when the game was about to start. I sat down and bought in for about 3 times as much as most of the regulars and the villain in question, Ali, swiveled away from the NL game he was watching next door and asked me "You are playing hi-lo?"

You see, no one in this game is under 45, and I happen to be 21 years old.

Anyway I scooped him in an utterly standard hand about an hour into the session when I made a 6 high straight on 5th and Ali and some other guy who genuinely does run worse than anyone called me down the whole way.

Up until this point he had been losing but just douched me hardcore in this hand...

He raises first in with A in the door. I call with 63(6). On 4th he catches a 9 and c/rs me when I catch an 8.

5th

26(6-8-6) for me

xx(A-9-K) for him and I c/r his ass

we both brick on 6th and he calls. He calls on 7th and after I announce three sixes he flips three aces and says "I thought you had a full house." Cool.

Onto the hand in question.

He limps with a trey and I pump 65(6) one off the BI. So HU to 4th after everyone folds.

65(6-K)
xx(3-9)

I bet and he calls

65(6-K-Q)
xx(3-9-6)

I bet and he calls

65(6-K-Q-J)
xx(3-9-6-5)

Am I betting this for value? What if I am raised? I was genuinely torn what to do here.

I think initially my table image was very solid, but then I got caught playing two marginal hands(both in great spots however) that ended up winning at showdown. So people might be giving me less credit.

And if you know anything about LA you might imagine that someone named Ali, who made the comments above, might not give me(or anyone else for that matter) credit in this spot.

Beef ribs, Kim chi mixed with white rice, and orange slices were worth the $416 though.
