This is more likely a result of how often they were thrown. Chances are good that the feelings of normalcy and functionality are inversely proportional to how often 'kid-tossing' played a role in the family dynamic. I would also imagine that throwing them at a very early age would have a far greater effect than if the parents start the throwing in the pre-teen or teenage years.
