He probably puts you on a strong hand, R utg+1 that calls the re-raise. So the K high flop probably has a big chance hitting your range.

His check-call turn:
He puts you on a weaker range after you checked the flop and is probably prepered to even call as weak hands as 88-QQ etc.

After your weak play so far in this hand their is a million reasons why he may bet here. As a bluff/monster/thin value etc...

btw why o why did you check the flop? Especially when you think AK is a big part of his range? What hands do you want too catch up QQ?
