my gf has had a '97 328 for like 5 years now. i've always loved it, no real problems, i'd like to get one for myself once i get money.
more recently, her mom got a 328, and her dad got a 540 (both used, prob an 02 and an 04? something like that). The 328 is just like my gf's, very nice, and the 540 is about 3x as slick. if i had a family to drive around and $ to spare this would easily be a top choice of mine.
repairs are pricier, but just suck it up, its not SO bad. They're good friends with their local import used car dealer, bought multiple cars from him, and in return they get the vip treatment for repairs so to speak.
