Whoz the thief?
Lawrence Summers was a guest on the Charlie Rose show the other day.
He claims that the Bush tax breaks went more to the top end than the bottom end.
Income distribution of 1979 v. today:
Top 1% has 670 billion more = 600k per person of those in the top 1%.
Bottom 80% lost 670 billion = 5k less.
99% of payroll taxes are collected.
85% of other taxes (which are already riddled with loopholes) are collected, costing 300-500 billion in lost tax revenue every year.
