In short, I'd say your stacks weren't truly deep enough to "see where everyone else is at." Post-flop, if you think there's a reasonable chance the flop missed your opponent, you need to move all-in with your made pair (which is, after all, an overpair to this flop, meaning you'll probably stack an opponent playing A3, A5, or A6).
