Default Re: 2007 Kentucky Governor’s Race – Awesome opportunity for us!!!

I think 2008 being a Congressional Armageddon is what it will take. Rove/Dobson/Bush assumed(mostly correctly) that we have a 50+1 style election system. One half is red, the other blue. Scorch the earth to galvanize your turnout and make some local/regional plays to steal some electors and youre in.
Gay marriage, stem cells, farm subsidies, and pander to the Cubans, and youre in.
Im seeing right now the Republicans losing massively in 08. The computer generated gerrymandering that kept them alive early this decade has been demographically eroded for effectiveness. Youre seeing that in retirements in the House of members with declining vote %s(a lot of our targets). The Dems could have a majority in the House and exclude the Blue Dog Caucus.
Unfortunately, a lot of the power brokers in the Republican Party are safe. Multiple term Senators rarely lose. No one in California ever loses a Congressional race. Can they lose 9 seats in the Senate? I hope so, maybe they will implode as a Party or reform. Otherwise, its done. The Party could shrink to as little as 30-40% of the electorate.
The old assumption that you can hold half the country no matter how [censored] insane, dictatorial, and imcompetent you act in office is about to be broken.
