Socialist that base thier entire economy on plundering natural resources never work out in the end. Either:

1) They run out of the resource
2) The price collapses

His economic management is horrible. There are actually food shortages because he put price caps on food. The only reason the economy doesn't collapse is the massive petro dollar influx. He isn't doing anything to build up the non-oil econcomy.
