Yes, he's that bad. He is incredibly inefficient, is always in the top three in Pitcher Abuse Points, walks way too many batters, gives up way too many home runs, and his strikeout rate has fallen every year along with his velocity.

Does that sound like a guy you give a 7 year deal to? He benefited from a sick defense in Oakland and all the foul ground there.

Actually, many expected him to perform about as well as he did in Oakland because AT&T Park may be the most severe pitchers' park in the game, presumably lowering his HRs, and facing much weaker NL lineups would also help. That was a perfectly rational line of thought; he's been worse than anyone could've expected, really.

Noah Lowry's perfect proof. You would've taken Lowry over Zito this season? Because Lowry's been helped a ton by his situation, and Zito is a better pitcher than he in the exact same situation.
