Default Re: KQs played too passively, can I call river shove?

It's plays like this that keep so many low stakes players from having good results. Looking up at the guys who play mid to high stakes, you think they must be doing something special to be able to win so much. Then you get caught up in that thought and try to 'outplay' your opponents.

The trick is that outplaying your opponents only has a little to do with being tricky. Mostly, it's just maximizing your winnings and minimizing your losses. So next time when faced with an obvious play, don't try and overthink and get too tricky, 'outplay' your opponent by making the obvious play: bet the turn to build a large pot and maximize your value. Raise more on the river to bulid a large pot and maximize your value. It really is that simple.
